The Details

What’s the Space Like?

Classes take place in my heated, air-conditioned art studio garage in the Strawberry section of Mill Valley

  • The garage door remains wide open throughout, providing ample air circulation.

  • Kids work at large tables that allow for 3-4 foot distancing between them.

  • Homemade snacks are served at about 4 pm. (Littles bring own snacks.) Kids must bring their own water bottles and dress in clothes that can get really dirty.

  • If your children are hungry right after school, please send them FED!

  • Hand-sanitizer and wipes are always available.

Costs and Schedules:

  • When does it meet? The program runs in 6 or 8 week sessions of once-a-week classes. There are no classes on school holidays. .

  • What does it cost?

    • The upcoming session for D-K to 2nd is $750 for six classes. Supplies and homemade cookies are included.

  • When do you pay? Sessions are invoiced upon acceptance of registration, and payment is due upon receipt.

How to Pay:

Once your registration has been accepted, I’ll send out your invoice, and you can pay by Zelle. Before your child can begin classes, you’ll need to fill out a liability release. See the navigation tab for a copy of it.

This information will be on your invoice, but my Zelle account is under Cathryn Ramin, and the associated phone number is 415.710.2479.

Why does it cost so much? Good question!

There are less expensive classes, to be sure. Maybe you’ve tried some of them, and your child has come home with projects of dubious value that quickly find their way into the back of a closet, instead of into a frame, in a place of honor.

Maybe you’ve wondered about the experience and psychological/emotional orientation of the instructors. Maybe bolstering imagination and self-esteem hasn’t been a big part of the curriculum. And maybe no one noticed that your child was walking around with sharp scissors, pointing up.

Garage Art Workshop is cut from a different cloth. Just ask me, and I’ll connect you with any parent whose child has attended.
